How we collaborate

The CFIS collaborates with the development of this program in Camp de Tarragona through the following lines of action.

UCIKids

Description

In order to reduce the state of shock that can occur for children/visiting a family member admitted to the Intensive Care Units (ICU), the staff of the ICU Service of the San Juan de Reus University Hospital, together with the CFIS, has developed an application where the ICU spaces and its equipment are presented.

Currently, the HUSJR ICU Service has a tablet with the application downloaded. It is used regularly by the nursing team before children are admitted onto the service. In addition, any other person or hospital with an ICU service can download it (free access) for their own use.

Objectives

This educational application aims for children to adapt more quickly to the ICU environment (sounds, stress, equipment, etc.) and therefore, the situation presented by their family member does not impact them as much.

How we collaborate

The CFIS collaborates in the design and development of the mobile app for the main mobile platforms (Android and iOS)
